CARING FOR YOUR PUPPY

Your puppy can be collected after he/she reaches 8 weeks of age. They will have had their full health check, first vaccination and be microchipped.

Your puppy will leave with at least their first vaccine complete. The second vaccine will be due 3-4 weeks after the first one. Please remember puppies cannot go out in public until 7 days after their second vaccine.

Your puppy will be microchipped before going to their new home. The details need to be updated in the new owners name as soon as you collect your puppy.

Your puppy cannot go out in public until 7 days after their second vaccine. They can however attend puppy classes as all puppies that attend would have had their first vaccine. They can also socialise with dogs that are fully vaccinated, so by all means you can introduce them to friends and families pets that are up to date with jabs.

Your puppy should only walk for short periods of time at a young age. A good rule of thumb is a ratio of five minutes exercise per month of age (up to twice a day) until the puppy is fully grown e.g. 15 minutes (up to twice a day) when 3 months old, 20 minutes when 4 months old and so on. Once they are fully grown (12 months) they can go out for much longer. Their main form of exercise as a young puppy should come from free play. This will allow them to rest when needed.

Your puppy should ideally sleep in a suitable crate at night, in a separate room. They should have access to fresh water at all times but never left unattended with food. You can cover the crate with a blanket to give more darkness for the nightime routine if you feel necessary.

Yes! You will always get to meet Mum along with her puppies.

Yes, the puppies will be fully weaned before they are due to leave at 8 weeks.

Yes, the puppies are wormed at 2, 5 and 8 weeks of age. The worming programme is to be continued in their new home under the guidance and recommendation of your vet.
